Acetaminophen Side Effects

Why is this medication prescribed?
Acetaminophen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain from headaches, muscle aches, menstrual periods, colds and sore throats, toothaches, backaches, and reactions to vaccinations (shots), and to reduce fever. It is a major ingredient in numerous cold and flu remedies.

Before taking Acetaminophen
To make sure you can safely take Acetaminophen, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:
if you have any serious medical condition
if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant
if you have liver disease or kidney disease
allergic to any other medications

Acetaminophen side effects:

Nausea and vomiting (in up to 5 percent)
Tightness in the chest (greater than 1% to less than or equal to 3%)
Stomach pain (0.5% to 2%)
Excessive sweating (greater than 0.1% to less than or equal to 1%)
Diarrhea (0.1% to 0.8%)
Coma (greater than 0.3% to less than or equal to 1%)
Seizures (greater than 0.1% to less than or equal to 1%)
Liver failure (have been reported rarely)
Appetite loss
Liver failure

What other information should I know?
Colchicine is very effective as part of a combination package where it is used to inhibit inflammation backed by second and third line attack that relieves inflammation then blocks pain. Be careful if you are being treated for any other health problem, or if you are taking supplements. There are many medicines that can react badly with colchicine, so please double-check with your doctor and pharmacist before combining colchicine with any other treatment. It is also better to avoid this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
