How to Get Rid of Styes

A stye is a small bump that sometimes appear as a painful lump on the outside or inside of the eyelid. A stye is also known as a hordeolum. It is an infection that can lead to blocked glands within the eyelid. When the gland is blocked, bacteria can infect the blocked gland, causing increased inflammation, pain, and redness of the eye, and even redness of the surrounding eyelid and cheek tissue, but they generally do not cause any damage to the eye or eyelids. The lump frequently goes away when the blockage of the gland opening is relieved. Furthermore, the infection goes away when the pus is drained from the sty.

Styes Causes

A sty can be caused by:
Improper removal of eye makeup
Poor eyelid hygiene
An infection of an eyelash follicle
Eyelid inflammation
Immune Deficiency

Symptoms of A Stye

Signs and symptoms of a stye include:
The affected area becomes red and swollen
Eyelid pain
Eyelid swelling
Tenderness to touch
Crusting of the eyelid margins
Droopiness of the eyelid
Blurred vision
Sensitive to light

How to Get Rid of Styes

Below given are some valuable tips on how to get rid of the painful and discomforting styes.
1. Dip a cotton ball or swab in warm water and gently cleanse the stye. 3-5 times a day.

2. Boil about a cup of water, with the coriander seeds mixed in, just like if making tea. Use this mixture to wash the area 3-5 times a day.

3. Take a piece of aloe, chop, pour 1 cup boiling water, leave overnight, drain and make lotions to the affected area.

4. 1 teaspoon cornflower blossoms, boil a small amount of boiling water for half an hour. Drain. Soak gauze in broth, composed of several layers, and apply to the eye.

5. Hold a warm washcloth against your eye for 5 to10 minutes at a time for some instant relief.

6. Rinsing your eyes with milk. Dip a cotton swab in some milk and gently rub it over the stye.

7. Buy prescription antibiotic creams or eyedrops for treating styes.
