Clonidine Side Effects

What is Clonidine used for?
Clonidine is a sympathomimetic medication used to treat medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, ADHD, anxiety/panic disorder, and certain pain conditions. This kind of medicine is called an adrenergic agonist, and it works by binding to certain receptors for adrenaline (norepinephrine), causing them to produce more of this neurotransmitter.  It is classified as a centrally acting α2 adrenergic agonist. An alternative hypothesis that has been proposed is that clonidine acts centrally as an imidazoline receptor agonist.

Before taking Clonidine

Tell your doctor if you ever had an allergic reaction to clonidine transdermal.
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease or a history of heart disease.
