The kidneys are a component of the urinary system, The main components of the urinary tract system are kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra, most kidney infections start when bacteria get into your urethra. A kidney infection requires prompt medical attention, If you not treated, it can lead to pyonephrosis, urosepsis, kidney failure and even death.

Some of the common signs and symptoms of kidney infection include:
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
High temperature (fever)
Urinary frequency
Pain when urinating
Pain in the side
Back pain or flank pain
Blood in your urine
Feeling very weak
Cloudy urine
Diarrhoea
Feeling that you're unable to urinate fully
Urine has a strong smell

These symptoms may be caused by a kidney infection, contact your doctor if you have any of these symptoms. Severe kidney infection can lead to life-threatening complications. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience typical kidney infection symptoms combined with bloody urine or nausea and vomiting.
