What is Nexium?
Nexium is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is in a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) which block the production of acid by the stomach.
